His career began in one of Portugal's leading industrial firms, specializing in electrical equipment for public and private energy networks. Working in the export marketing and sales department, Manuel leveraged his linguistic capabilities and technical acumen to take on increased responsibilities, particularly in the management of key markets, such as France and Sub-Saharan African countries.

Transitioning to the public sector, Manuel accepted a leadership role in the Porto Municipality as City Councilor for Tourism and Commerce. This role presented a significant leadership challenge, as he was tasked with creating new teams to address a specific aspect of municipal affairs that had previously been unattended. This experience provided a valuable opportunity for Manuel to further develop his relationship-building and leadership skills.

After two years, the Mayor invited him to embark on a new endeavor within a municipal company responsible for the Municipality's construction projects and investments. As a board member, Manuel oversees projects involving street and public area construction, as well as departments like HR, Quality, and IT. His aptitude for quickly grasping the company's activities and the specifics of ongoing projects has enabled him to confidently assume this role and effectively engage with all stakeholders.
