João's life rests upon three sturdy pillars: family, physical and mental well-being, and personal growth. Professionally, he's not just a proactive learner, but a firm believer in the power of continuous learning. His career kicked off before he even completed his Civil Engineering degree when he ventured into research at FEUP's Civil Engineering Department. While there, he didn't just gain knowledge but also expanded his horizons by engaging with national and international academic associations. These experiences transformed him into a versatile problem solver and a master networker.

His career took him on a journey where he managed projects and quality, honing his project management skills and leadership abilities. Then, in 2018, he embraced a new challenge at a multinational R&D and financial consultancy. Here, he dived into R&D projects, and his passion for innovation led him to introduce corporate PMOs, further enriching his global perspective.

Today, João serves as the Director of Innovation in a diverse business group, where he passionately drives innovation and R&D initiatives. In addition to this role, he also performs M&A functions to diversify the business portfolio of the Group.

In parallel, He is a founding member of the collaborative laboratory for construction, BuiltColab and participate in governing bodies at PTPC (Portuguese Construction Technology Platform) and Smart Building.

Pursuing an MBA is his way of deepening his knowledge, connecting academia and industry even more seamlessly.
